The Rotary Club of Thornbury
Meetings at Eastwood Park. Falfield, Gloucestershire
Inner Wheel
President: Joan Josey
2018/19 will be my second time as Club President and I am looking forward to the challenge. Born and bred in Bristol I have never moved far from my roots. In 2009 I retired from full time occupation in the banking sector. I now spend the majority of my time singing with my acapella chorus and other smaller affiliated groups. On Friday afternoon’s I enjoy helping with our junior chorus of girls aged between 7 and 14.
What is Inner Wheel? The three objects of Inner Wheel are very simple. They are to promote true friendship, encourage the ideals of personal service and to foster international understanding. We also actively support many of the activities of Thornbury Rotary Club
The Inner Wheel logo, which was adopted, is the Rotary wheel with a smaller cog inside it – the inner wheel which helps the big wheel turn. Membership is open to wives/partners/daughters of a Rotarian. It is also open to any female who is/was related to former Rotarian/Inner Wheel Member/former Inner Wheel Member or a female Rotarian.
Inner Wheel now invites ladies without any affiliation to Rotary, but agree with the principles of Fun, Friendship and Helping in our Community.
Want to join Inner Wheel? The Club meets at The Ship, Alveston on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 6.45. You will be made most welcome!
